El día 20 de Septiembre se celebró en Roma la Apertura de la Causa de Canonización de los Mártires de Laos.
Son 15 en total. Encabeza el grupo Josep Ten, laosiano, sacerdote diocesano. Los otros presuntos Mártires son 5 Misioneros Oblatos de María Inmaculada, 5 Misioneros de las Misiones Extranjeras de París y cuatro Laicos laosianos, catequistas.
El acto de apertura fue tan sencillo como importante. Se desarrolló en presencia del Postulador de la Causa, P. Joaquín Martínez Vega o.m.i. Asistieron tres Oblatos más: Angelo Pelis, Fabio Ciardi y Ndodana Shuma. También estaba presente la religiosa española Carmen Trejo, Postuladora de las hermanas del Santo Ángel.
Se abrieron las cajas de los documentos y se comprobó si se habían observado las normas en el proceso diocesano celebrado en Nantes (Francia). Todo parecía estar en regla. Acto seguido, el Postulador entregó una carta para el Prefecto solicitando el Decreto de Validez. Será el segundo paso del itinerario en esta fase romana.
